Merge PDF Without Rearranging Pages

It is frustrating when you upload "Chapter 1", "Chapter 2", and "Chapter 3",     but the merged file comes out as "1, 3, 2". This guide explains why tools shuffle pages and how to stop it.

⚠️ Common Symptoms

Why Does the Order Change?

🔤 Auto-Sorting: Many tools automatically sort files Alphabetically (A-Z). If your files are named "Doc1", "Doc10", "Doc2", "Doc10" will come before "Doc2".
📅 Metadata Conflict: If you upload scanned files, some tools sort by "Creation Date" hidden inside the file code.
🖱️ Drag Errors: Sometimes, dragging a group of files uploads them in random order based on which file your mouse was holding.

How to Lock the Correct Sequence

1
Rename Files First: Add numbers like "01_Intro", "02_Body", "03_End". This forces almost any tool to respect the order.
2
Use Manual Sort: After uploading to ClonyPDF, use our drag-and-drop interface to visually confirm the order before clicking Merge.
3
Merge Once: Don't merge "Batch A" then "Batch B". Upload all files together for a consistent sequence.
